EU Internet Award 2010
Die EU hat 2010 zum
Europäischen Jahr zur Bekämpfung von Armut und sozialer Ausgrenzung erklärt.
- Das Europäische Jahr zielt darauf ab, das öffentliche Bewusstsein dafür, dass es soziale Ausgrenzung gibt
und wie Ausgrenzung auf die betroffenen Menschen wirkt, zu stärken und die Wahrnehmung für die vielfältigen
Facetten von Armut und Ausgrenzung zu schärfen. Gleichzeitig geht es darum, einen sensibleren Umgang
von Politik und Medien mit den betroffenen Menschen zu erreichen und Vorurteilen und möglichen
Diskriminierungen im Alltag gegenüber von Armutsrisiken und Ausgrenzung Betroffenen zu begegnen.
- Das Europäische Jahr soll weiterhin bei den europäischen Bürgerinnen und Bürgern dafür werben,
gemeinsam mehr Verantwortung für die Stärkung des sozialen Zusammenhalts zu übernehmen.
Es sollte deutlich werden, was jeder Einzelne und die Gesellschaft insgesamt gewinnen, wenn soziale
Ausgrenzung und Armutsrisiken reduziert werden (z.B. Stärkung der Demokratie, gesellschaftliche
Wohlfahrt, erhöhte Lebensqualität durch sozialen Frieden).
Um das Thema und die Aktionsziele des Europäischen Jahres 2010 auch Schülerinnen und Schülern
nahe zu bringen und im Unterricht vertiefend zu diskutieren, hat die
Europäische Bewegung Deutschland - Zentrum für Europäische
Bildung den EU Internet Award 2010 ausgeschrieben. Der Wettbewerb sollte dazu beitragen,
- Interesse für die Bearbeitung des Themas „Armut und Ausgrenzung“ im Unterricht zu wecken;
- das Thema „Armut und Ausgrenzung“ in transnationaler Zusammenarbeit in europäischen Projektgruppen
zu diskutieren und zu bearbeiten;
- durch die grenzüberschreitende Projektarbeit den interkulturellen Austausch praxisbezogen zu fördern
und interkulturelles Lernen praktisch zu vertiefen;
- Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien im Unterricht sinnvoll zu nutzen und (Schul-)Partnerschaften
zu etablieren.

EU Internet Award 2010
The EU has declared 2010 the
European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion.
- The European Year aims to raise public awareness of the fact that social exclusion exists and how exclusion affects
those who suffer from it, as well as awareness of the various facets of poverty and exclusion.
It is also intended to encourage politics and media to treat this theme in a more sensitive way, so that
people affected by poverty risks and exclusion are not subject to prejudices and possible discrimination.
- The European Year aims to promote a sense of common responsibility for social cohesion and inclusion among Europe's citizens.
It is intended to show how individuals and society benefit from reducing social exclusion and poverty risks
(e.g. a stronger democracy, social welfare, higher quality of life through peaceful social relations).
In order to make the topic and the aims of the European Year 2010 accessible to pupils and students as well
and to encourage in-depth discussion about these issues in the classroom, the European Movement in Germany -
Zentrum für Europäische Bildung announced the
EU Internet Award 2010. The competition aimed at:
- raising interest in "poverty and social exclusion" as a topic in class,
- fostering transnational cooperation by discussing and working on "poverty and social exclusion" in
European project groups,
- contributing to the application and deepening of intercultural learning and exchange through practical project work,
- stimulating sensible usage of information and communication technologies in the classroom
and establishing (school) partnerships.
